NEWNAN, Ga. — A dispute among the congregation at a Georgia church disrupted services and led police to be called — and some Facebook Live videos caught it all.

“It was ugly on behalf of the deacons. It was really, really ugly,” Rosa Slaughter told WSB. “They’re supposed to lead people, you know, help people.”

One member said unrest happened because of donations and the firing of pastor Stafford Dudley Sr.

Deacons asked the officers to clear the church.

“When the police came, they told us, ‘Y’all got to leave,’” Betty Sutton Richardson said. “I said, ‘We don’t have to leave our church.’ He said, ‘Yes ma’am, y’all have to leave.’”

Multiple cellphones were taken out to record the dispute, with one Facebook live video garnering nearly one million views.

No arrests were made.
