NEW YORK — Rihanna’s new album is on the way, but probably not soon enough for the Navy.

In an interview with New York Times Magazine, Rihanna confirms that she's working on a reggae album.

She also takes time to deny rumors of collaborations with Lady Gaga and past collaborator Drake, saying she doesn't see one happening with Drake, but wouldn't rule out one with Gaga.

"Maybe because she followed me on Instagram," Rihanna said of speculation that Gaga would be on the new album. "It's not in the books right now, but I'm not against it."

The Bajan makeup and beauty entrepreneur also said the album doesn’t have a title yet, with no titles under consideration.

“So far it’s just been R9, thanks to the Navy,” she said. “I’m about to call it that probably, ’cause they have haunted me with this ‘R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?’ How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?”

Fans have been in a severe drought when it comes to new music from Rihanna, who is busy with her Fenty Beauty empire and her history-making clothing line.

Earlier this month, Luxury brand group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton announced it was launching Fenty Maison, the singer's new fashion house, which makes her the first woman of color leading a house under the group.

Rihanna’s last album was 2016’s “Anti,” but she’s featured on Kendrick Lamar’s 2017 single “Loyalty.”
