Seven things to know now: Police shooting livestream; no sex for remarried Catholics; Fox anchor

What to know now:

1. Comey to testify: FBI Director James Comey is set to testify before Congress Thursday about his decision not to press for charges to be filed against Hillary Clinton for her use  of a private email server. The news that Comey would testify came a few hours before Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced the Department of Justice would not  pursue charges against Clinton, despite Comey's blistering attack on Clinton's judgment  in sending and receiving classified emails during her tenure as secretary of state.

2. Carlson sues: Gretchen Carlson, formerly a Fox News Channel host, is suing the chairman of the network for sexual harassment. Carlson, who was fired last month when her contract expired, claims in her suit that CEO Roger Ailes repeatedly "injected sexual and/or sexist comments" into conversations; made "sexual advances by various means;" and told her last year, "I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you'd be good and better and I'd be good and better." While not filing suit against the network, Carlson also mentioned "Fox& Friends" co-host Steve Doocy in the suit, saying Doocy treated her in a "sexist and condescending" way.

3. Police shooting livestream: A Minnesota man was fatally shot by a police officer Wednesday as he sat in a car with a woman and a child. Authorities are investigating not only the shooting that happened after a traffic stop, but reports that the aftermath of the shooting was livestreamed on Facebook. The video showed a woman in a vehicle with a man whose shirt appears to be soaked in blood. She's telling the camera that "police just shot my boyfriend for no apparent reason." The man, who family members say is Philando Castile, 32, died at the hospital shortly after the shooting.

4. SEAL death: The death of a seaman during Navy special forces training has been ruled a homicide. James Lovelace drown in the first week of the six-month Navy SEAL training program in California. According to reports, Lovelace's lips and face were blue when he was pushed underwater at least twice by his instructor. Lovelace was wearing full gear and treading water in a giant pool at the training facility in Coronado, Calif., when the incident happened.

5. Cosby wants case tossed: Lawyers for Bill Cosby will be asking a Pennsylvania judge to either let him face the woman who accused him of sexual assault, or throw the criminal case out. Cosby is set to be in court Thursday to appeal the decision to allow the case to go to trial. His lawyers say his accuser, Andrea Constand, should have had to testify in a preliminary hearing before the judge made a decision to send the case to trial.

And  one more

The leader of the Philadelphia archdiocese has told his parishioners they may not receive Communion if they are divorced and remarried in a civil ceremony unless they abstain from sex and live as “brother and sister.” Archbishop Charles Chaput issued the pastoral guidelines – which went into effect on July 1 – for clergy and other leaders in the archdiocese. The guideline is in opposition to a recent directive from Pope Francis that  allows civilly remarried Catholics to receive Communion.
