Tiger Woods' comeback delayed again, report says

Vice-captain Tiger Woods of the United States looks on from the 14th hole during afternoon fourball matches of the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club on September 30, 2016 in Chaska, Minnesota.

Tiger Woods’ comeback is on hold, according to a report from GolfChannel.com.

Tiger Woods made headlines last week when he announced he would play in the Safeway Open.

The Golf Channel reported on Monday that he has withdrawn from the event.

Woods hasn’t played since August 2015, and the former world No. 1 has undergone two back surgeries since then.

While some might still be holding out hope he can return to the form that once made him not only a dominant golfer, but also a dominant figure on the sports landscape, that seems to be out of the question at this point.

Even the likelihood he becomes a tour regular seems to diminish more all the time.
