The crash happened when Amber Lee Brown, of Vandergrift, crossed through the intersection of Orr Avenue and State Route 66, which is also a train crossing for Norfolk Southern Railway, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said Brown failed to yield and another car -- driven by Rebecca Lea Jones, of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania -- struck the driver's side of her car.

Both cars became disabled on the railroad tracks.

Several bystanders were able to push Jones' car off the tracks as the train approached, police said.

Police said Brown was able to free her infant child from her car within seconds of the train, hitting it.

Brown, her baby and Jones sustained moderate injuries.
