Video: Erratic driver smashes into multiple cars in Ohio, tackled by bystander

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Jessica Doyle was taken into custody after witnesses captured video of her crashing into at least three vehicles and a pole before she was stopped by citizens.

Doyle, 34, of New Carlisle, Ohio, was arrested Wednesday evening after she was tackled by a bystander when she was reportedly tried to flee the scene. The unidentified man claimed he witnessed Doyle exit her car and start walking after it had become disabled from the multiple crashes. He asked her to stop, but she continued walking, Springfield police said, so he grabbed her and took her to the ground.

She was not tested for drugs or alcohol at the scene of the incident, police said.

Doyle was charged with driving under suspension, hit-skip and failure to control along with an assault charge for allegedly biting and punching the man who tried to stop her, according to a police.

Doyle was scheduled to appear at Clark County Municipal Court on Thursday morning, but didn’t show for a scheduled appearance.

Her arraignment was rescheduled for Friday morning. If she does not show up for a second time, court officials said an arrest warrant could be filed.
