ORLANDO, Fla. —
A piece of former Hurricane Isaac is trying to develop as a new system in the northern Gulf of Mexico, according to WFTV Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry.
If the system does reform it will become Tropical Depression 14, and should it strengthen to the point of being a named storm, it would become Nadine.
Current forecast models take the storm in a variety of directions with a couple tracks bringing the storm across Florida.
Terry said that rain chances across central Florida will increase over the weekend.
Hurricane Hunter aircrafter were scheduled to fly into the storm on Thursday but those flights were scrubbed and rescheduled for Friday, according the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
2012 has been an active hurricane season with 13 named storms so far, including seven hurricanes.
In 2005, the 14th named storm, Nate, formed on Sept. 5.
Meanwhile, out in the Atlantic Hurricanes Leslie and Michael, a Category 2 storm, continue to move north, with Leslie heading toward Bermuda. (more on the Hurricanes)
Leslie is going to continue to bring dangerous rip currents and swells to Florida's east coast over the weekend.
