Report: Colts C Saturday Out Six Weeks

Thursday, August 28, 2008

(Sports Network) - Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday will reportedly miss the first six weeks of the season due to ligament damage in his right knee.

The Indianapolis Star contacted Saturday's agent Ralph Cindrich, who indicated the 33-year-old tore his medial collateral ligament in Sunday's 20-7 preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills. In the third quarter, the veteran appeared to get his leg rolled up on by several defenders and limped off the field under his own power.

"I don't think he'll be able to get back on the field for at least six or seven weeks," Cindrich told the paper. "He's down for a while."

If the center, who has made 59 straight starts since the 2004 campaign, opts for surgery, he could be out 11 weeks.

Saturday, entering his tenth season, has been named to three Pro Bowls during his career.
