Titans QB Young Injures Leg

Sunday, September 7, 2008

(Sports Network) - Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young left Sunday's 17-10 season opening victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a sprained left knee suffered in the fourth quarter.

With a little over four minutes left in the game, Young rolled to his right and threw a pass that was dropped by LenDale White. Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith jumped to block the pass and fell directly on the lower half of Young's left leg.

Young remained on the ground for several minutes with trainers focusing on his left knee. He managed to limp off the field under his own power, as veteran Kerry Collins took over under center and led Tennessee to a game-clinching touchdown.

Young needed crutches to get around after the game and his knee will be evaluated on Monday.
