Falcons Release DB Williams

Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Falcons released safety Jimmy Williams on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Williams has just one interception and 40 tackles in two seasons in the league after being selected with the fifth pick of the second round by Atlanta in the 2006 draft.

The Virginia Tech product has appeared in 27 games over two seasons, with one pick in 2006 and none last season.
