Owens Agrees To Three-Year Deal With Cowboys

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver Terrell Owens have agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract extension on Tuesday.

The extension will keep the 34-year-old Owens in Dallas through the 2011 season. He was entering the final year of a three-year, $25 million contract before signing the extension.

"With this contract, I know I'm a Cowboy for life," said Owens. "I can't say enough about Drew and how he got this done. It was always a possibility that I could end my career with the Cowboys - now that's gonna happen."

Last season, the receiver caught 81 passes in 15 games for 1,355 yards and 15 touchdowns.

"(Owens) earned this contract through production and performance," said Dallas owner Jerry Jones said. "Not one time did Drew or Terrell approach us about a contract extension."

In 12 NFL seasons with San Francisco, Philadelphia and Dallas, Owens has recorded 882 receptions for 13,070 yards and 129 touchdowns.
