Lions Place Alexander On Injured; Norris Re-Signed

Monday, October 13, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions announced Monday that safety Gerald Alexander has been placed on the injured reserve list. The team also re-signed fullback Moran Norris.

Alexander went down with a neck injury in the final minutes of Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The 24-year-old defensive back is in his second year in the NFL and has played in all 21 games since he was drafted out of Boise State in the second round (61st overall) of the 2007 NFL draft.

Norris is an eight-year veteran and was a fourth-round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2001. In 92 career games, Norris has gained 25 yards on 10 rushes and has collected 23 receptions for 131 yards and three touchdowns. He was released on October 11 by the club.
