Brady Expects To Be Ready For Pats Opener

Monday, August 25, 2008

(Sports Network) - New England All-Pro quarterback Tom Brady expects to play in the Patriots' season opener versus the Kansas City Chiefs on September 7.

The NFL's reigning Most Valuable Player, Brady has been plagued by a foot injury this summer and has not played in the preseason.

The signal caller told WEEI Radio in Boston that he might not play in the team's preseason finale Thursday against the New York Giants but should be ready for the opener.

Brady threw for 4,806 yards and a single-season record 50 touchdowns last year while helping the Patriots to a 16-0 regular season. The Pats were later upset in Super Bowl XLII by the Giants.
