Giants Sign Burress To Extension

Thursday, September 4, 2008

(Sports Network) - New York and wide receiver Plaxico Burress agreed on a two-year contract extension Thursday, hours before the Giants begin defense of their title against the Washington Redskins.

Burress, who had three years remaining on the original deal he signed in 2005, is now under contract through the 2012 campaign.

Last season, he led the Giants with 70 receptions for 1,025 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns. Burress added 18 receptions for 221 yards in the postseason, including the game-winning 13-yard TD in Super Bowl XLII.
