Texans S Brown Done For Season

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

(Sports Network) - Houston Texans safety C.C. Brown was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday, and is out for the season after having surgery to mend a fractured arm.

Brown suffered the injury in Sunday's 30-27 overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and had surgery on Monday. He was in his fourth season with the Texans since coming into the NFL as a sixth-round pick by Houston in 2005. In 50 career games, the Louisiana-Lafayette product has amassed 254 tackles, three interceptions, 14 passes defended and one sack.

Additionally on Tuesday, the Texans signed fullback Cecil Sapp to the active roster and signed linebacker Kevis Coley to the practice squad. Tight end Clark Harris was released from the practice squad.
