Panthers Buy Out LW Stumpel

(Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers announced Friday that they have bought out the remaining one year on the contract of left wing Jozef Stumpel.

Stumpel recorded seven goals and 20 points with a minus-11 rating in 52 games for the Panthers last season. In three seasons with Florida, he appeared in 199 games, registering 45 goals and 129 points.

The 35-year-old Stumpel, who was a second round pick (40th overall) of Boston in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, has tallied 196 goals and 481 assists in 957 games with the Bruins, Kings and Panthers.
