Wednesday, July 16, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed forward Alexandre Picard and defenseman Marc Methot while inking forward Steve Kelly to a one-year, two-way contract, the club announced Wednesday. Per club policy, terms were not disclosed.

The 22-year-old Picard has one assist in 43 career NHL contests for the Blue Jackets, after the team made the Les Saules, Quebec native, their eighth overall choice in the 2004 Draft.

Methot, 23, has four assists in 29 career games for Columbus after the club selected the Ottawa, Ontario native in the sixth round of the 2003 Draft.

Kelly, 31, has accumulated nine goals and 12 assists in 149 career NHL games over parts of nine seasons with Edmonton, Tampa Bay, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Minnesota. The Vancouver, British Columbia native was originally taken sixth overall by Edmonton in the 1995 Draft.
