Columbus, OH -- (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed goaltender Pascal Leclaire to a three-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Leclaire is coming off his best NHL season, having posted a 24-17-6 record in 54 games with Columbus in 2007-08. He recorded a 2.25 goals-against average and .919 save percentage, while posting a career-high nine shutouts.

His nine shutouts ranked second in the NHL, while his record was the best in franchise history. Additionally, after the season Leclaire went 4-0-0 at the 2008 World Championships in helping the Canadian team win a silver medal.

"We're very happy to have signed Pascal to a new contract that will keep him with the Blue Jackets for the next three seasons," said Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson. "He is an important part of our team and we think he will continue to improve and play a significant role in helping us reach our goals."

The Repentigny, Quebec native has played in 113 career NHL games and owns a 41-49-11 record, 2.71 GAA and .911 save percentage over four seasons -- all with Columbus. The Blue Jackets originally selected the Quebec native with the eighth overall pick of the 2001 draft.
