Toyota of Orlando holds holiday drive for Camp Boggy Creek!

At Toyota of Orlando, we love to be able to give back to the community in Central Florida. What better way to do it than to hold a holiday drive and get into the holiday spirit? This year we’re conducting a holiday drive to benefit Camp Boggy Creek, a local non-profit organization that is an absolutely essential part of our community. We’re proud to support them and hope you’ll join us this holiday season in our efforts!

Help us help Camp Boggy Creek this holiday season! 

Camp Boggy Creek is a local camp that was built with seriously ill children in mind. Children who have illnesses like cancer, sickle cell, epilepsy, and spina bifida can’t attend a normal summer camp due to their medical needs, and therefore have to miss out on amazing childhood experiences. That is, until Camp Boggy Creek came around! This extraordinary camp was established in 1996 by Paul Newman and General H. Normal Schwakzkopf, and since then has been offering sick children a place to escape! 

Camp Boggy Creek holds both summer camp sessions and family weekends. This allows campers and their families to alleviate some of the pressures of normal day-to-day life with their illnesses, as well as bond with other campers and families who face the same obstacles. It allows these kids to enjoy normal childhood experiences without worry, as the camp is fully staffed with trained medical professionals and needed medical resources. 

Toyota of Orlando and Toyota of Clermont are collecting much needed camp items! 

However, Camp Boggy Creek can’t do it alone! They run strictly off of donations, which is why our Orlando Toyota dealership is so eager to help them this holiday season. Along with Toyota of Clermont, our sister store, we’ll be holding a holiday drive to help collect the supplies needed to keep the camp up and running efficiently! 

Here are the details: 
Where: Toyota of Orlando (3575 Vineland Road) and Toyota of Clermont (16851 State Road 50) – you can decide which location is more convenient for you. You can leave your contributions in the provided barrels by the door, or with the receptionists. 
When: December 1-31, 2013. Our dealerships are both open from 8:30am to 10:00pm. 
What to contribute: We’re collecting from a long list, so every little bit helps! Here are the items you can donate: 
  • Non-latex bandaids of all sizes
  • Gatorade powder cans
  • AA batteries
  • AAA batteries
  • D batteries
  • White Christmas lights  (with green wiring)
  • Child, youth, and adult size life jackets
  • Sidewalk chalk
  • Mini hot glue sticks
  • All sizes of ponchos
  • Golf umbrellas
  • Duct tape - any solid color
  • Pool noodles
  • Children's bathing suits
  • Uno and playing cards
  • Sharpie markers
  • Publix Gift Cards
  • Michael's Cards
  • Walmart Gift Cards
