When was the last time you saw a new Scion in Orlando climb a mountain? Probably not lately – on top of the lack of mountainous terrain in Central Florida, the Scion family also isn’t your most likely choice for mountaintop adventures. However, get ready – three new Scion in Orlando made it to the top of Pikes Peak in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last week. The 2013 Scion FR-S, Scion tC, and Scion xD were the chosen vehicles to represent this innovative brand!
Which new Scion in Orlando would you drive up a mountain?
These vehicles joined a bevy of other cars in a breath-taking race to the top (around 156 turns). Here’s who captained each of the vehicles:
- 2013 Scion FR-S: Robert Walker
- 2013 Scion tC: Takeshi Aizawa
- 2013 Scion xD: Andrew Comrie-Picard
While all three of these unique cars are great ways to get around town here in Central Florida, they wouldn’t be the obvious options for taking on an uphill climb to the top of Pikes Peak (you MIGHT choose something more along the lines of the 2013 Toyota Tacoma, or the new Toyota Land Cruiser). However, with some impressive modifications the 2013 Scion FR-S, Scion tC, and Scion xD made it to the top of the hill!
Each of these Scion in Orlando offers an exceptional base, and one that can be easily modified to suit your individual driving standards (even if you don’t want to climb a mountain). Let’s take a closer look at the new Scion vehicles that were picked to take on Pikes Peak!
2013 Scion FR-S
This new Scion in Orlando is undoubtedly the most iconic of the bunch. The 2013 Scion FR-S was a special collaboration between Toyota and Subaru, and the result was an affordable sports car that packs a huge punch in terms of performance. It gets from 0-60 in about 6 seconds, has a rear-wheel drive system for impressive get-up-and-go, boasts a special flat Boxer engine for a lower center of gravity, and can be sitting in your driveway for just over $25,000. You don’t want to miss out on the 2013 Scion FR-S!
2013 Scion tC
If sleek coupes are more your style, check out the 2013 Scion tC! This slick Scion coupe has comfortable seating for five, but maintains a sporty and aggressive appearance that screams style on the exterior. It also hosts features like a panoramic glass roof with a power moonroof, as well as a Pioneer Audio System with MP3 playback. Check out the Limited Edition Scion tC RS 8.0 this year!
2013 Scion xD
Did you know that the Scion xD has actually been featured in rally races around the world? You wouldn’t expect it of the tiny hatchback, but it’s got power and performance woven into major versatility. Its liftback design makes it perfect for cargo, and it’s got fold-flat seats to accommodate whatever you’ve got to get around town. It also has remote keyless entry for convenience, and comes in a multitude of eye-catching paint colors!
