What is the best way to dispose of unwanted TV's, computers, or cell phones? more
What is the best way to dispose of household hazardous products? more
DON'T put that cooking oil or grease down the sink! Grease down the drain sticks to the inside of sewer pipes, both on your property and in the streets. Eventually it builds up and blocks entire pipes causing sewage overflows!!!

What you can do to prevent pollution from getting into our waterways
- Landscape with nature. Use natural predators like insects and bats, composting, and plant native plants to reduce, or entirely negate the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
- Proper chemical use, storage, and disposal. Dispose of used oil, antifreeze and other household chemicals properly, not in storm sewers or drains. more
- Keep organic waste out of the path of storm water. Items such as grass clippings, leaves, litter, pet wastes, and other organic debris should be kept out of street gutters and storm drains.
- Clean up spilled brake fluid, oil, grease, and antifreeze. Do not hose them into the street where they can eventually reach waterways.
- Control soil erosion on your property by planting ground cover and stabilizing erosion-prone areas.
- Pass the information along to your friends, family, and neighbors!
