While the league sways in limbo, the Orlando Predators are doing everything they can to stay in operation until the Arena Football League can make a financial comeback. For the Preds, that means laying off half their staff, eight employees, working out of their Orlando office. The Predators' building, marked with team colors and logos, will stay with the organization. Team president Brett Bouchy hopes the laid off employees will be coming back to the office in March. That's when Bouchy is hopeful the league will resume operations and begin working toward a more profitable 2010 season."It was fun man. Hopefully, I will be back with the Preds once everyting gets back in place for next season," says Jason Lucas, the team's Director of Media Relations who was one of the casualties of the Predators' layoffs.Bouchy says that until agreements are worked out with the AFL Players Association, no comment can be made about the future for players under contract. But the team President was emphatic that the eight employees who lost their jobs this week will be the same eight he tries to hire back as soon as possible.
