Bad News For Seminoles

They didn't get into any trouble, everybody checked into the hotel on time but still, the Florida State Seminoles will be shorthanded on offense when they take on Wisconsin in the Champs Sports Bowl.

Preston Parker, who leads the team with forty receptions this season has been nursing an injured ankle since the regular season finale. After sitting out most of the week of practice, the 'Noles announced Parker will probably sit this one out.

Making it even worse for FSU, Taiwan Easterling has been suffering from an injured back, he's being called doubtful for the bowl game.

The news means Greg Carr will now be the main focus point at wide receiver for quarterback Christian Ponder, and will put more pressure on the offensive line and Antone Smith to keep the ball moving if Florida State has trouble finding openings through the air.

The worst part for the Seminoles is the loss of a significant amount of speed on the wings. Easterling and Parker are both capable of stretching the field and clearing the safeties away from the box to help create space for the underneath routes. Fortunately for Ponder, Carr is a strong deep threat as well, averaging over 15 yards per reception this season.
