The National Lacrosse League introduced the Titans to Orlando in a press conference today. The Titans have relocated from New York, where they competed for the league championship last year. The Titans will play at Amway Arena beginning in January for the 2010 season. They will play a 16-game season which will run through mid-April."We are both pleased and excited to bring the NLL to Orlando and the Central Florida sports scene," team president Steve Donner said. "Although the game has its roots in Canada and the northeast, lacrosse is experiencing tremendous growth in Florida with the emergence of club and high school teams throughout the state.""The Titans are the first professional lacrosse team in the state of Florida. We look forward to seeeing the world's best lacrosse players entertaining fans at the Amway Arena," Donner said. The Titans roster will be predominantly composed of players from the 2009 New York franchise, which played in the Championship Cup Final last year. Despite relocating, Donner expects his team will be just as competitive this year and vie for a title in their first season in Orlando. The team will be lead by head coach Ed Comeau who won a NLL championship with Rochester in 2007.
