Winter Park edges Evans in 8A Final

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Elijah Farley had 27 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead Winter Park to a 66-64 overtime victory against Orlando Evans in the Florida boys Class 8A championship game Saturday.
 
   Winter Park (33-3) led by as many as 13 in the half but had to rally late in the fourth quarter to get the game to overtime.
 
   Evans (24-8) had a huge third quarter, outscoring Winter Park 26-14 to take a 46-40 lead going into the fourth.
 
   With 2:07 in the fourth, Deloran Oliver scored to give Evans a 53-47 lead. Farley answered with a three-point play and another basket to pull Winter Park to 54-52. Both teams traded baskets again and Evans' Malik Smith was put on the line with seven seconds left. He missed the front end of the bonus and Austin Goodluck scored off of an offensive rebound at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
 
   Winter Park opened the extra period with a 7-0 run but Benly Olizia answered with a 3-pointer and C.J. Williamson added a basket to make the score 63-61 with 1:11 remaining.
 
   Both teams decided to send the other to the free-throw line and Goodluck hit both shots in a double bonus to give Winter Park a 66-63 lead. On the other end Olizia was fouled with 5.4 seconds left. He missed the front end of the double bonus but hit the second shot.
 
   After a timeout Winter Park launched the ball three quarters of the way down the court on the inbounds where Goodluck grabbed it and ran out the clock.
 
   Williamson led Evans with 24 points and six rebounds.
