Aaron Hernandez cousin to plead guilty to contempt

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) —

The cousin of Aaron Hernandez who was charged with criminal contempt after refusing to testify before the grand jury that indicted the former New England Patriot intends to change her plea.

Tanya Singleton had pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors say she was granted immunity but refused to testify. Her attorney said Monday in Fall River Superior Court that she will change her plea at the Aug. 12 trial.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2013 shooting death of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd and the deaths of two men in Boston in 2012.

Singleton pleaded not guilty to the same contempt charge in connection with the Boston case. Her lawyer says she will change her plea in both cases.

She also faces a conspiracy charge in the Lloyd case.
