Lewis' return a highlight of Miami spring game

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The most important play in Miami's spring game was one where nobody played any defense, with the blessing of Hurricanes coach Al Golden.

Malcolm Lewis caught a 75-yard touchdown pass, seven months after severely injuring his left ankle in a game against Georgia Tech. Lewis did not practice this spring with the Hurricanes while continuing to recover from the injury that ended his freshman season.

But on Saturday, Golden told him that he would get a moment to shine, and teammates from both sidelines rushed into the end zone to surround Lewis after the touchdown catch.

Stephen Morris threw four touchdown passes in the game, Miami's last official workout until training camp this summer.
