WFTV set to televise UCF vs. South Carolina Sept. 28

ORLANDO, Fla. — For the first time in program history, University of Central Florida will appear on network television as the American Athletic Conference announced Saturday evening ABC will televise the Knights’ clash with No. 12/13 South Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon at Bright House Networks Stadium.

It will be a full national telecast on ABC.

The UCF-South Carolina matchup also will be presented by CFE Federal Credit Union, and it will be parents and family weekend on campus as well.

At 3-0, the Knights are off to their best start since 1988 when they opened at 5-0, and they're coming off their first win over a Big Ten program when it toppled Penn State Sept. 14. They have scored at least 30 points in their first three games of a season for the first time since the program’s inception in 1979.

UCF last faced a ranked team at home in 2009 when it upset No. 13/12 Houston.

The previous clash with South Carolina also was a national telecast as they opened 2005 on a Thursday on ESPN. The Gamecocks lead the series 3-0, and this will be their first trip to Orlando to face UCF.

Saturday’s meeting with the Gamecocks (2-1) is expected to be sold out, which would mark the first sell out since Boston College in 2011.
