Westgate Resorts' Siegel buys Orlando Predators

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The owner of a Florida timeshare resort firm is jumping into the world of arena football.

Westgate Resorts founder and CEO David Siegel announced the purchase of the Arena Football League's Orlando Predators at a news conference Tuesday. Westgate executive Jared Saft was named as the team's new president. Rob Keefe will remain the Predators coach.

Siegel, who was featured in the 2012 documentary "The Queen of Versailles," says the Predators will also return to Orlando's downtown Amway Center to play their home games in the 2015 season.

The team played there from 2011 to 2013 before an attendance shortfall resulted in a lease default and move to UCF's CFE Arena this season.

The Predators joined the league in 1991 and are entering their 25th AFL season.
