Hetenyi Earns Shutout In Solar Bears Win Over Reading

ORLANDO, Fla. — G Zoltan Hetenyi turned aside all 29 Royals shots as he posted the first shutout of the year for the Solar Bears, helping Orlando to a 1-0 win over the Royals in front of 6,840 fans at the Amway Center on Thursday night.

The Solar Bears struck first at 8:56 of the first period putting them on the board  with a 1-0 lead. D Corbin Baldwin pushed a centering pass to forward C.J. Severyn who then fired the puck past G Riley Gill and into the back of the net. Orlando was able to hold their one goal lead for the remainder of the first frame.

Orlando maintained their 1-0 lead through a scoreless second and third period. G Zoltan Hetenyi turned aside all 29 shots Reading placed on goal, collecting the first shutout of the season for Orlando.

Zoltan Hetenyi earned his third shutout of the year, and first for the Solar Bears, in his third start as a Solar Bear this season. Heteyni has allowed a total of three goals in his three games with Orlando... The Solar Bears wore special Star Wars themed jerseys during the game... Forward C.J. Severyn scored his 19th goal of the season, and is one shy of the team lead of 20 currently held by C Ryan Cruthers... Orlando improved to 10-2-0-1 at home against non-divisional opponents... The Solar Bears are now 10 games above .500 at home this season, with a record of 18-8-1-3 at the Amway Center.
