Tanski scores twice as Solar Bears take 3-2 victory

ORLANDO, Fla. — Scott Tanski tallied twice to lead the Solar Bears to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Florida Everblades in front of 8,061 fans at the Amway Center on Sunday afternoon.

Neither side was able to strike in the game's opening frame, but the Florida Everblades grabbed the lead early in the second. Forward Rocco Carzo one-timed a pass from F Trevor Bruess through the five-hole of G Christopher Gibson as Florida went ahead 1-0. Orlando answered at 9:59 when D Bryce Aneloski weaved through the neutral zone and snapped a shot from the left circle that glanced off the blocker of G Connor Knapp and into the net. Once again, the Everblades regained the lead as F Philip-Michael Devos finished off a lengthy stretch of offensive possession on a wrister into the top left corner of the cage. With 58.8 seconds left in the period, F Scott Tanski brought the score to 2-2 when his shot from the slot ramped off an Everblades defender and trickled over the goal line. The two sides went tied 2-2 into the third.

Tanski knocked in his second of the game 9:06 into the third period. F Jacob Cepis stole the puck in the the neutral zone and fed a pass to D Cody Wild. Wild moved the puck to Tanski, who raced in along the right wing and fired a shot that rang off the post and bounced off an Everblades defender and into the net. The goal would stand as the game winner, as Gibson turned aside all 14 Everblades shots he faced in the third stanza to collect the 3-2 victory. In the win, the Solar Bears improved to 5-0-1-0 in their last six home games.
