UCF lands three local stars on National Signing Day

ORLANDO, Fla. — Hundreds of local high school athletes made their college choices Wednesday on National Signing Day.

A handful of local athletes chose to stay close to home by signing letters of intent to enroll at the University of Central Florida.

New head coach Scott Frost was hired a couple of months ago and made it a point to recruit in his own back yard.

Frost's first class consisted of 20 players, including three from the central Florida area. The class ranked second best in the American Athletic Conference.

Mainland athlete Adrian Killins accounted for 1,100 all-purpose yards as a senior and won the state title in track in 2015.

Killins will be joined by offensive stars Brandon Moore and Jaquarius Bargnare of Seminole High School and Dr. Phillips, respectively.

Each said Frost is the reason they decided to stay close to home, despite receiving interest from other high-profile schools.
