I joined the Eyewitness News team as a general assignment reporter in July of 2007.
I moved to Orlando from Memphis where I worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor on the weekend morning show. While there, I exposed violence against teachers in the city school system, flaws in the electronic attendance system and covered federal indictments of numerous public officials.
Prior to my time in Memphis, I worked as a bureau chief at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois. I earned an Associated Press award for Best Reporter and the Dennis Magee "Focus On The Community" award for outstanding coverage on social service issues and homelessness. I was also honored as Media Person Of The Year. I also worked as a reporter at WICS-TV in Springfield, Illinois, where I was one of a few reporters who were allowed on death row to interview inmates after former Gov. George Ryan granted blanket clemency.
I attended undergrad at Illinois State University and graduate school at the University of Illinois at Springfield. When I'm not reporting you can catch me shopping or reading on the beach. I'm an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
