Eric Rasmussen
I joined WFTV as a general assignment reporter in January 2007.Most recently, I worked as an anchor and reporter at KFSN in Fresno, California. I also spent time on-air at WCIA in Champaign, Illinois and KHSL in Chico, CA.Live TV, meeting new people and telling a good story are what make my job so enjoyable. I won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2005 for continuing coverage of a World War II era airman after ice climbers found his frozen body high up in Kings Canyon National Park. I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. When I'm not "reporting live" from somewhere in Central Florida, I turn in my microphone for two turntables and hundreds of records. My DJ Rass mixtapes are notorious. My wife, Erika, and I live in Maitland with our dogs, China and Missy.
You can see Eric's dogs 'Missy' and 'China' in the WFTV Reporters & Anchors Pet Slideshow
