Story

Liz Artz

I joined the Eyewitness News team in March of 2007 and anchor Daybreak and Eyewitness News at Noon on the Weekends. I also do reports three days a week for WFTV.

Before joining Channel 9 I anchored the 5:00pm newscast and reported for the 10:00pm at WVTM in Birmingham Alabama. I have won several Associated Press Awards for best newscast while in Birmingham and Montgomery.

My interest in news came about in junior high after having opportunities to lunch with newspaper reporters at the Denver Press Club who wrote for the Rocky Mountain News, one of Denver Colorado's leading newspapers. The old school journalist fascinated me with their many tales from careers that span over 50 years.

In the news business I meet new people every day, learn a little about a lot of different things and bring it home to the community at the end of the day. I can't imagine a better craft or trade.

I graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Political Science. I started my T.V. News career in Panama City Florida and it's good to be back in Florida.

When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with my family and cheering on the Denver Broncos and Auburn Tigers.
