I have been a helicopter pilot for almost 20 years. Being the first helicopter pilot in Orlando to begin reporting news full-time, you've probably seen or heard me report on breaking news across Central Florida.

Working in Orlando is my dream job. I grew up in Ormond Beach and attended the University of Central Florida (UCF).

In 1989, I became an Officer and pilot for the United States Army. I spent many years flying the border of East Germany during the Cold War. During my service in the Army, I also flew drug interdiction along the Mexico border, tested stinger missiles for Hughes Missile Systems and was an Instructor Pilot.

I began flying for Television News in 1995 and began reporting for breaking news soon after. I joined WFTV in 2000, and have flown over and reported on some of the biggest stories to impact Central Florida, including the aftermath of the 2004 hurricanes, the Amtrak train derailment of 2002, the brushfires that shut down I-4 for almost a week in 2001 and the Florida wildfires of 1998. During Hurricane Katrina, I piloted Skywitness 9 to New Orleans and helped rescue a local couple trapped by the flood waters.

Flying Skywitness 9, the largest and fastest news helicopter in Orlando, is a dream come true. When I'm not on the job flying to breaking news, I love to travel with my family. I live in Orlando with my wife Jeanie, and our three children.
