I joined the Eyewitness News team as a general assignment reporter in July of 2007.

I'm originally from Chicago, but I moved to Orlando from Memphis where I worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor on the weekend morning show. While there, I exposed violence against teachers in the city school system, flaws in the electronic attendance system and covered major stories, including federal indictments of numerous public officials.

While in Memphis, I immersed myself into various community service organizations. And in April of 2007, I was named the Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Sister of the Year for the state of Tennessee.

Prior to my time in Memphis, I worked as a bureau chief at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois. I also covered government issues at the statehouse.

While there, I earned an Illinois Associated Press award for Best Reporter and the Dennis Magee "Focus On The Community" award for outstanding coverage on social service issues and homelessness. I was also honored as Media Person Of The Year.

I received my bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and my master's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield. During graduate school I worked as a reporter for WICS-TV in Springfield, Illinois. I was one of a few reporters allowed on death row to interview inmates after former Governor George Ryan granted blanket clemency in 2003.

I've wanted to be a news reporter since I was eight-years-old. I enjoy the thrill of experiencing someting new everyday and telling stories that matter to you!

When I'm not reporting you can catch me at one of the many malls in the Orlando area or reading a good book on the beach. I'm an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and I serve on its Young Black Journalists Task Force board. I am also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
