I joined WFTV in August of 2007 as a general assignment reporter.I'm a proud South Carolina native who comes to Orlando from Raleigh, North Carolina where I worked for News 14 Carolina, a 24/7 local news station owned by Time Warner Cable.During my two years in Raleigh, I covered several big stories inside and outside the market. The most challenging story was the Duke lacrosse case where I followed and reported on the many twists and turns of the story from the beginning to the end. Before Raleigh, I lived and worked in Columbia, South Carolina for five years. Three of those years, I spent working as an assignment editor and reporter at the CBS affiliate, WLTX-TV.I graduated from an intense journalism program at the University of South Carolina College of Mass Communications and Information Studies with a B.A. in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish. To achieve a broad range of news and political experience, I worked various jobs in the Columbia area delivering news on Newsradio 560 WVOC, working as a video editor for the NBC affiliate, WIS-TV, and interning for former South Carolina Governor Jim Hodges. I also worked in our nation's capitol interning for late former Senator J. Strom Thurmond. In college, I was one of three Carolina Marching Band drum majors at USC, a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary fraternity for college band members, and a student in the USC Honors College.I love being in Central Florida and since my passion is community news, it's important I report on stories you need to know about.
