I joined the WFTV news team in August, 2007. I anchor the 10:00pm newscast on WRDQ Monday thru Friday and file reports for both WRDQ and WFTV two days a week. Before coming to Orlando, I worked as a morning news anchor and reporter in New Orleans. I proudly wear the badge of Katrina Survivor, working for a local affiliate there before, during and after the Hurricane Katrina. It was a horrific experience that I will never forget, but it did teach me the importance of bringing information to you, the viewer.I started my career in television as a sportscaster, working in Jonesboro, Arkansas and in both Montgomery and Huntsville, Alabama before settling in New Orleans in 1997. During the 18 or so years that I have devoted to television, I have covered everything from the 1996 Olympics, where I was one of the first reporters on the air immediately after the bombing of Centennial Park, to two Superbowls, to the historic mayoral election in post-Katrina New Orleans, plus all of the tragic stories that flowed from that city in the weeks and months after Hurricane Katrina. I am fortunate to have several Associated Press and Press Club awards, plus an Emmy nomination on my resume'.From an early age I knew that I wanted to be a journalist. I was fortunate enough to get a job as a radio "dj" at the age of 15! My interest in journalism grew and that led me to attend Arkansas State University where I majored in broadcast journalism and minored in political science. I also played football for ASU as a place-kicker.My other interests include guitar, music of all sorts, sports, and working out.
