I am the WFTV Sports Anchor for the 6:00 and 11:00pm newscasts. I joined the Channel 9 Sports team in June of 2003 as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter. My wife Renee and I and daughter Cortney live in East Orlando along with Gally our golden labrador.
You can see Zach's dog 'Gally' in the WFTV Reporters & Anchors Pet SlideshowI was born just north of Chicago, in Northbrook, Illinois, and fell in love with broadcasting in High School. After realizing my only chance to make it in sports was to be on the other side of the mic, I attended the University of Kansas and graduated in 1996 with a degree in Journalism. My first television job was as a sports producer for WDAF in Kansas City. After a year of producing, I finally talked my way into the station letting me report on high school, college and professional sports. In June of 1999, I moved to Oklahoma City where I was named the Sports Director at KOKH-TV. In addition to my anchoring and reporting, I was a regional and national sideline reporter for Fox Sports Net's coverage of Big 12 Football. I am a golf addict and enjoy traveling and photography.
