WFTV/WRDQ leads the Central Florida market as a powerful, dynamic and diverse presence in local television. An internship at WFTV/WRDQ provides an unpaid, hands-on opportunity to experience any one of a number of disciplines within an exciting professional environment.

To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria*:
» Current enrollment in a college or university.**
» Documented confirmation that candidate will receive college credit for internship.**
» A demonstrated interest in communications or related field of study.

*Further requirements may apply for international students.

On-air Marketing and Promotions
Some of the skills and duties interns in the WFTV/WRDQ Promotions Department are responsible for learning include:
» Basic editing in AVID Adrenaline and ProTools
» Media management and archiving
» Recording voice over sessions
» Understanding production process for daily topical news promotion
» Understanding traffic and daily logs
» Understanding Nielsen ratings
» Logging tape
» Assisting on video/film shoots
» Assisting at events
» Email resume and/or letter of interest as attachment to Roger Docking

Website Content Production
There are two web sites managed at WFTV, WFTV.com and icFlorida.com. Some of the skills, duties and opportunities for interns in the Web Site department include:
» Editing on-air stories for the web site
» Crafting event listings for icFlorida.com
» Managing web site databases (events, restaurants, etc.)
» E-mail management
» Email resume and/or letter of interest as attachment to Craig Mazer

Graphic Design
Some of the responsibilities and learning opportunities in the WFTV/WRDQ Graphics Department:
» Basic designing/compositing using Photoshop and After Effects
» Basic print design using Photoshop and Illustrator
» Basic 3d modeling using Cinema 4D
» Basic training in any of the following: Deko/DekoCast, Curious Map Software, or Avid Adrenaline/Final Cut Pro
» Understanding the workflow involved in creating on-air graphics and promotional spots
» Assisting or creating on-air promotional items
» Assisting or creating on-air news items
