Tim Wetzel

I joined Channel 9 Eyewitness News in January 2006 as a General Assignment Reporter.

I came to WFTV from WINK-TV in Fort Myers, FL, where I reported on Hurricanes Charley, Jeanne, Frances and Wilma. I also led the station's coverage of NASA's Return to Flight and the launch of Space Shuttle Discovery. Prior to coming to Florida, I worked as a reporter at KTIV-TV in Sioux City, Iowa.

I first got the television bug in college. In between classes, I worked as a production assistant for WRC-TV in Washington, DC and also served as an intern for a member of Congress, a US Senator and the White House.

I graduated from American University in 2000. I am originally from Missouri and am a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
