Robert Maxwell
I joined the Eyewitness News team in May 2006. I enjoy living in Central Florida for its diverse people and communities. The best thing about working in television is the opportunity to meet people who are willing to share their view of our changing world.I began my broadcast career as a radio news reporter and anchor in Montreal, Quebec where I sharpened my French language skills. I covered a wide range of stories from the 1993 Stanley Cup riots to visits of Queen Elizabeth the Second. My foray into television began at Canada's Weather Network where I co-hosted a live, regional morning show in Toronto. From there, I made my way back to my hometown of Ottawa, Ontario, where I was the main anchor of CHUM Television's evening newscasts and made regular appearances on network newscasts. Before venturing into the American television market, I also spent two years honing my storytelling abilities at Toronto1, where I was senior reporter and back up anchor for its nationally recognized news magazine program.I graduated from Carleton University's Journalism program in Canada's capital of Ottawa. My charitable work has included Big Brothers and Meals On Wheels. In my down time, I enjoy reading, working out and discovering new cafes and jazz clubs.
