Mathieu, Tursunov Reach Semis In France

(Sports Network) - Fourth-seeded French crowd favorite Paul- Henri Mathieu and fifth-seeded Russian Dmitry Tursunov highlighted Friday's quarterfinal winners at the $540,000 Open de Moselle tennis tournament.

Mathieu got past dangerous Serb Janko Tipsarevic 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, while Tursunov handled former world No. 1 Spaniard Carlos Moya 6-3, 6-3 on the indoor hardcourt at Les Arenes. Moya was the French Open champion 10 years ago.

Two other quarters saw seventh-seeded Czech Radek Stepanek come from behind to beat Argentine Eduardo Schwank 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 and qualifier Adrian Mannarino douse fellow Frenchman Marc Gicquel 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). The 20-year-old Mannarino is playing in only his second ATP-level event.

Saturday's semifinals will pit Mathieu against his upstart countryman Mannarino and Tursunov versus Stepanek.
