LAKE MARY, Fla. — Lake Mary police said they are investigating a fatal crash Thursday, involving a pedestrian who was hit by a car.
Authorities said that the car struck a woman at about 7 a.m. on Lake Emma Road and Sand Pond Road in Lake Mary, police said.
It appeared that the car might have driven through a guardrail and crashed into a tree, sending branches into the power lines.
Channel 9's Julie Salomone said there was a Lake Mary High School parking sticker on the windshield of the car and numerous backpacks on the ground next to the wrecked car.
The names of those involved have not been released.
