Roadway reopens after semi, multiple-vehicle crash that left 1 person critical, officials say

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — The southbound lanes of Highway 441, also known as Orange Blossom Trail, reopened Friday at Stoneybrook Hills Parkway in Mount Dora after a multi-vehicle crash shut them down hours earlier.

The crash happened Friday at 3:30 p.m., but the roadway did not reopen until 8:30 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-trailer was driving north on Orange Blossom Trail when a car pulled out in front of it from a side road.

The driver of the semi swerved to miss the car, traveled into the southbound lanes, hit several vehicles and overturned, FHP said.

A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash, investigators said.

One man was seriously injured and was listed in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center, officials said.

No other information was immediately released.
