According to Villages-News, Clifford A. Boyce, 29, and Kari L. Coleman, 27, were accused of drinking and firing guns at a hot-water tank in January outside of a home in Lady Lake. Police were called to the home in the middle of the night after reports of gunshots in the area.

Authorities said Boyce and Coleman surrendered two 12-gauge shotguns when they arrived.

The couple was charged with discharging a firearm in public, and Boyce faced an additional charge of possession of a short-barreled shotgun.

Coleman was sentenced Friday to six months probation and Boyce was placed on 36-months’ probation. Both were ordered to stay away from alcohol, and Boyce also was ordered to surrender his firearms and complete a firearms safety class.
