Troopers: 2 die in crash on I-95 near New Smyrna Beach

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Two people died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near New Smyrna Beach, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. at mile marker 249 north of State Road 44, Trooper Steven Montiero said.

All northbound lanes remain closed, Montiero said.

No other details were given.

The crash remains under investigation.
