Newcomers, vets make up Oscars Best Director noms

U.S. presidential drama "Lincoln" led the pack of Oscar nominees on Thursday (January 10) with 12 nominations including a nod for best picture and best director for Steven Spielberg. Joining Spielberg in the competition for the best director are first-time director Benh Zeitlin for "Beasts of the Southern Wild," Ang Lee for "Life of Pi," and David O. Russell for "Silver Linings Playbook."
