ORLANDO, Fla. — Friday was a chilly day in Central Florida, one day before New Year’s Eve celebrations begin.
There is a freeze warning for Marion County from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday.
It will be a cold start on Saturday with a temperature of 71 degrees, and an average low of 41 degrees.
“If winds can diminish and skies clear, we will see some patchy, light frost form in sheltered areas north west of Orlando. It will stay too warm in the metro to see frost,” Severe Weather Center 9’s meteorologist Rusty McCranie said.

But the cold weather will not last very long.
“The humidity will stay low, and after a breezy afternoon the winds will diminish overnight,” McCranie said.
The slight warmup starts Sunday with an average high of 79 degrees and an average low of 55 degrees.
The warmup will continue through next week.
